Since then he has directed numerous "makings of", always understood as a product
somewhere between advertising and a TV program.
The "making" is something like a package of popcorn. It's the perfect complement for a
film which one has enjoyed, and in a way, it complements it. When it comes to producing
one of these "makings of", its informative inclination leads one to wonder what it is that
interests the average audience about the making of a film:
directing the actors, the special effects, the camera movements, etc... never
forgetting that these types of programs are directed to a very wide audience and it
therefore must have a somewhat entertaining, informative tone to it, avoiding elitism and
maintaining the magic of the film.
Amann's "making" has as few "offs" as possible, letting the leading actors and the
directors explain the film.
In the case of "Thanks for the tip" the scenes that were chosen were the most festive
and spectacular, which could, at the moment of showing the shooting of the film,
serve as examples of the film as a whole.
So, the crew went to Alcanar, picked out scenes such as the burial, the boxing, the streetcar and above all the procession which was a festive and Mediterranean burst of energy.
This was all complemented with interviews with Francesc Bellmunt and the whole range
of actors.
One facet that made this "making of" a little different from those normally made by
the crew of "Así de Hizo" on TVE is the problem caused by the mixture of
languages in the shooting. Taking into account that the program was going to be
broadcast all over Spain, it had to focus on the scenes in Spanish and limit the
Catalan and Valencian to scenes that could be understood by Spanish speaking-only
audiences.
We hope the program is interesting not only for cinema fans but also for all those who are really curious and study what is the main art form of our century.
